Coder 2.23 focuses on simplifying access and accelerating productivity with seamless desktop IDE connectivity, built-in Amazon Q integration, and improved workspace troubleshooting tools.

## New Features

### Coder Desktop beta update: One-click integration with desktop IDEs

- **Control default tooling access**: Admins can define which IDE and desktop access buttons appear in each template to manage and audit tooling across teams.
- **Reduce access friction**: Developers can launch their remote IDE or desktop environment with one click without opening the web dashboard.
- **Secure desktop connectivity**: Supports [encrypted access to remote environments](https://coder.com/docs/user-guides/desktop) using [RDP](https://registry.coder.com/modules/coder/windows-rdp) or [VNC](https://registry.coder.com/modules/coder/kasmvnc) on Mac and Windows.

### Amazon Q Module

- **Add Amazon Q with one line**: The [new module](https://registry.coder.com/modules/coder/amazon-q) makes it easy to include [Amazon Q](https://aws.amazon.com/q/) in any workspace template through the Coder Registry.
- **No extra setup required**: Admins don’t need to manage additional infrastructure or services.
- **Supports development on AWS**: Gives developers access to a built-in assistant for help with coding and AWS-related tasks.

### Provisioner Keys UI

- **New screen for key management** showing all configured keys, how many provisioners use each, and direct links to investigate.
- **Faster root cause analysis**: Helps identify missing or unused keys, which are a common cause of failed workspace builds during Terraform execution.
- **Part of ongoing improvements**: Builds on [recent improvements](https://coder.com/docs/admin/provisioners/manage-provisioner-jobs) to terminate stuck jobs and navigate between jobs and provisioners to troubleshoot issues more quickly.
