HashiCorp's new license and Coder
On August 10th, HashiCorp announced that future versions of their products will be licensed under BSL instead of MPL. They addressed FAQs here.
For Coder, FAQ#10 has the most relevant language:
All non-production uses are permitted. All production uses are allowed other than hosting or embedding the software in an offering competitive with HashiCorp products or services.
We do not compete with a HashiCorp product, so we're compliant and will not change our roadmap or business in light of this news.
We have a good relationship with HashiCorp and hope to continue building amazing products together.
